Governor Terry McAuliffe June 27 announced that Unanet, a provider of cloud and on-premise enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that is purpose-built for project-driven organizations, will invest $1.67 million to expand its operation and create 60 new IT-related jobs in Loudoun County.

School habitats blend research with resources

Hands-on learning took on a new dimension this year for dozens of students who designed and installed wildlife habitats on school grounds. Habitat plantings are slightly different than pollinator gardens or vegetable gardens, in that they incorporate native plants to provide yearlong shelter and food for a variety of wildlife, including birds, butterflies, native bees, dragonflies, amphibians, and reptiles.

Three Prince William students recognized as top writers at Gaithersburg Literary Festival

Faadil Mohammed, a freshman at Osbourn Park High School, won first place at the Gaithersburg Book Festival with his short story, “Hell-th Insurance.” Colgan High School’s Shelby Bailey tied for third place and won Fan Favorite with her story, “Spotless.” Also recognized as a winner was Naomi Kline – Osbourn Park High School, grade 11.
