PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Sunday, Feb. 5, City of Manassas Fire & Rescue units responded to a fire at an apartment building in the 8600 block of Bruton Parish Court.  The fire started on the deck of the top apartment and damaged the exterior walls of both the top floor apartment and the apartment below it.  No occupants were hurt in the incident, but the Red Cross is assisting five residents of the two apartments.
 
The City of Manassas Fire & Rescue Department offers free smoke detectors to those in the City of Manassas who need them.  Call 703-257-8458 for more information.
 
 
Committee will explore what Prince William County's Strategic Plan really does in a panel discussion on Feb. 16. Does it reflect the needs and wants of PWC residents, or is it a political tool for a predetermined government agenda? Does it work with the Comprehensive Plan and budget realities? Superintendent Steven L. Walts kicked off recognition of School Board Appreciation Month at the Board’s meeting on February 1. “Our School Board members deserve credit for the high quality of education that is provided to the students attending Prince William County Public Schools,” Walts was quoted as saying in a news release. “We could not do our jobs without the help, leadership, and the commitment of our dedicated School Board.”

Ashley Dimino, a junior at Brentsville District High School, is the grand prize winner in the 2017 Youth Art Month flag design competition. Ashley’s design will be on display during March at the National Art Education Association Convention in New York City. 
Due to the possible inclement weather predicted for, Saturday, January 14, Prince William County Human Rights Commission has decided to postpone its celebration of Universal Human Rights Day. The celebration will be held on Thursday, February 9, at 7 p.m. in the Board Chamber of the McCoart building.
