Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) released the following statement Feb. 10 after the announcement by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on temporarily withholding FTA grant funds due to the Metro Safety Commission not yet being operational:

Beginning Friday, Feb. 10, pile driving will occur along Route 1 for construction of the new bridge over Marumsco Creek just north of Marys Way for approximately two weeks, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

On February 6, 2017, the Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identification of the human remains found on February 4 in the 1100 block of Marseille Ln in Woodbridge as Alan Cohee.

The “Alternative Education” School Naming Committee will hold a community input session to receive name suggestions for the “Alternative Education” School, also known as “Non-Traditional School,” currently under construction at 14550 Aden Road, in Manassas. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 27, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Colgan High School in Manassas.
