Visitations and a memorial service for Prince William County Supervisor John Jenkins will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, and Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge.

Michelle R. Robl, county attorney for Prince William Board of County Supervisors, says state law provides for a special election to fill the Neabsco District vacancy on the county board due to the death of Supervisor John Jenkins.

Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Kirk Cox (R-Colonial Heights) on Thursday named House Appropriations Committee Chairman S. Chris Jones (R-Suffolk), Steve Landes (R-Augusta), Chris Peace (R-Hanover), Barry Knight (R-Virginia Beach), Scott Garrett (R-Lynchburg), Luke Torian (D-Prince William), and Mark Sickles (D-Arlington) to the conference committee for the state budget bill, House Bill 1700. The House conferees will negotiate with the Senate on the final budget conference reports.

On February 4, 2019 at 8:41 p.m., officers from the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 9600 block of Grant Ave for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival officers located an adult female suffering from an apparent stab wound.
