PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Currently, the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 allows certain servicemembers to transfer all or some of their unused education benefits to their spouse or dependent children. The EARNED Act would expand that eligibility to any active duty or retired member of the Armed Forces who has at least 20 years of active-duty service.

Virginia Department of Transportation's Northern Virginia office says in a breaking news release that drivers should monitor forecast and consider adjusting commute times this afternoon. National Weather Service has issued a forecast showing the potential for snow during evening rush hour, VDOT said.

The Dec. 14 recount for Virginia’s 40th House District concluded, and Delegate Tim Hugo’s victory was reaffirmed, winning an eighth term by 99 votes. The 40th District includes parts of Fairfax and Prince William counties.

Prince William County's Department of Fire and Rescue is looking for people who know CPR to download PulsePoint, an app that notifies those nearby of a medical emergency where CPR needs to be administered.

From now until Dec.31, in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Manassas City Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies will be participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign. Along with enforcement, city police will be promoting awareness of the dangers associated with impaired driving on its Facebook and Twitter pages.

Occoquan District Supervisor Ruth Anderson has called for Prince William County staff to form a working group to address the countywide residential speeding issue. Police, County and State Transportation, individual citizens and members of local media will be asked to take part in this group. The directive was supported by all Supervisors present at the Dec. 12 meeting.
