Out of concern for the health and well-being of our patients, Novant Health UVA Health System is asking the community to restrict visitors age 12 and under due to the widespread outbreak of the flu virus. This restriction is effective on Friday, Jan. 12 at 7 a.m. until further notice.
Owners of woodlands large and small can learn how to maximize their property’s potential at the 14th annual Woods and Wildlife Conference put on by the Virginia Department of Forestry. This educational event will be held Saturday, Feb. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Germanna Community College’s Daniel Technology Center in Culpeper.

Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative and Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives are accepting applications for higher-education scholarships from public, private, and home schooled high school seniors who receive electricity from electric cooperatives. Applications for NOVEC's scholarships are due Tuesday, March 13, 2018. VMDAEC applications are due Friday, Feb. 9, 2018. Students may apply for both scholarships.
Gov. Terry McAuliffe on Jan. 9 opened a new office of Virginia Dept. of Veterans Services to serve veterans and transitioning servicemen and women and their families who work in the headquarters of the US Department of Defense. The new VDVS Pentagon location marks the 30th office location in the state. In addition, 30,000+ veterans have been hired through our Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program since its inception five years ago.
