PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
All national parks will observe National Get Outdoors Day this Saturday, June 9, with a free entry day to these facilities. The day raises awareness about the importance of physical activity outside and highlights the splendor of national parks. Take a walking tour and talk with a ranger at the battlefield Saturday.
The Prince William VA Board of County Supervisors has adopted a set of guidelines for using the tax funds that are annually budgeted for operating each magisterial district's office.
Prince William County VA has raised its fees for land development two percent across the board and has revised and added other fees. There are some exceptions. The new fees go into effect July 1.
A previously damaged and repaired electrical cord caused a house fire in Woodbridge VA June 4. Smoke was billowing when firefighters arrived. An adult and a pet had safely evacuated the house, according to fire officials.

Occoquan VA Town Council members and members of the public may be able to see some of the Transit of Venus, weather permitting, on June 5 when the council meets outdoors just across the Occoquan River in Fairfax County VA. Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta plans to provide his personal telescope with sun filters for the community to use at the event beginning at about 6 p.m.
Prince William County VA school officials have asked the Prince William County Planning Commission to defer the scheduled June 6 public hearing on a proposed school bus parking facility on US 15 in Haymarket VA. According to a news release, the school division needs additional time to consider the issues raised by the community at a May 22 public meeting.

The last day of school for students in grades K-8 who attend City of Manassas VA public schools has been changed. The final day of school for the 2011-12 school year is Wednesday, June 13.
