University of Mary Washington and The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences have joined forces to streamline the process for UMW students to pursue medical school. A memorandum of understanding guarantees UMW Honors program students early acceptance to the GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Motorists on eastbound I-66 were told to expect major delays during the morning rush Wednesday, July 29, as the right shoulder ‘X’ lane between Nutley Street and I-495 was closed for repairs to the concrete foundation of an overhead gantry for the under-construction Active Traffic Management System, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Parents and guardians are reminded that, by law, all kindergartners must have at least one dose of required immunizations, and all sixth-grade students are required to have a tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis booster vaccination (TDaP). Also, all newly enrolled kindergarten through fifth-grade students must have a physical in order to start school.

St. Paul’s School located in Haymarket is undergoing some changes, one of which will take place this upcoming school year, 2015-16. “Beginning in the next school year, our school will be known as St. Michael’s Academy," said Kathlerine Howe Evans, EdD, the principal.
The U.S. Senate is honoring the courage and sacrifice of the men and women of the U.S. intelligence community by designating this Sunday, July 26, 2015 as “United States Intelligence Professionals Day.”
