PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Homicide Investigation – On April 29 at 10:56AM, officers responded to the area of Cotton Mill Dr and Griffith Ave in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a found body. Officers arrived in the area and located the body of an adult woman presumed to be Lizeth Yadira Lopez, 36, who was reported as missing and endangered on April 19.
Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Readiness, April 28 applauded the House Armed Services Committee’s passage of H.R. 4909, which supports shipbuilding, increases military construction and prohibits another BRAC round without end-strength assessment.
Prince William County Police Department is still seeking any information on the whereabouts of Lizeth Yadira Lopez who was reported as missing and endangered last week by family members. During the investigation, detectives learned that Ms. Lopez exited the CVS store located on Touchtone Cir, Woodbridge, around 9:00PM on April 17.
“With mosquito season upon us, prevention is the key to combating the threat of Zika virus,” Gov. Terry McAuliffe was quoted as saying in a press release.

Medication take-back sites will be at three location hospital collection sites at Novant Health Prince William Medical Center (Prince William Hospital in Manassas), Sentara (hospital) Lake Ridge, or Novant Health Haymarket (hospital) Medical Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.

In a series of four 2-hour classes starting April 28, participants can learn strategic ways to manage Type 2 diabetes. The program includes nutrition education, medication guidance and counseling on self-management. A Registered Dietitian, a Registered Nurse and retired Medical Doctor lead the program offered through Virginia Cooperative Extension.
Prince William County Police Department invites County residents to help observe pedestrian and bicyclist safety during the "Street Smart" education and enforcement campaign April 11-May 8. This campaign is aimed at reducing the number of pedestrian and bicycle crashes with motor vehicles.
