NEW Kilby Elementary School in Woodbridge warmly welcomed and dedicated

Elected officials, staff, students, and nearly 300 families joined Prince William County Schools Superintendent Steve Walts to officially rededicate R. Dean Kilby Elementary School in Woodbridge on May 23. The bright, spacious, and colorful building replaces the school that opened on the same site in 1959, some 56 years ago.

Bull Run photoA fundraiser at Battlefield High School was held May 7 to raise funds for a new Gainesville library. Thousands of Legos were available for those who wanted to build something cool. Many youngsters came out to enjoy the day. They could bounce in the moonbounce, check out the many vendors, buy some used books or bid on more than 70 silent-auction items.

CDR Robert W. Covey of Montclair was laid to rest among other American Veterans and heroes at Arlington National Cemetery on May 5, 2017. Following the performance of full military honors, members of the Sons of the American Revolution performed the SAR Burial Ritual led by the Colonel William Grayson Chapter from Manassas, VA.

Mayhugh, Jr, 75, a lifelong resident of Gainesville, who passed away Saturday May 6, 2017 at home surrounded by his children. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 11, at Greenwich Presbyterian Church 15305 Vint Hill Rd. Nokesville, VA 20181, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery.
