Prince William County Schools announced April 3, 2024 that Miss Lillian Orlich, who served PWCS students for 64 years and passed away on March 7, 2024, left a $1 million donation to SPARK, the education foundation for PWCS.

Prince William County Police report that a suspect, identified as Jonathan Montile MIDDLETON, who police were seeking in connection with a March 23 fatal shooting that was reported to have occurred at Club Tempo, which is located at 17650 Possum Point Road in the Town of Dumfries (22026), turned himself into police without incident.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024 Prince William County Police Department detectives charged a suspect allegedly involved in the killings of two women which were reported to have occurred at the Westgate Apartments and Townhomes located in the 8100 block of Porter Ridge Lane in Manassas (20109) earlier that day.

Prince William County Police report that police officers found the bodies of two adult women inside the residence by police during a welfare check, both appearing to have been shot. Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene. A person of interest has been detained in Shenandoah County, according to a police report.

April is Invasive Plant Pest and Disease Awareness Month and there is a lot of concern about non-native plant pests and plant diseases. The Stafford County Board of Supervisors has appointed Craig Meadows as the county's new Interim County Administrator, effective April 3, 2024. With a distinguished career spanning 34 years, Meadows will join Stafford County from Montgomery County, VA (Blacksburg), following his recent retirement after serving as County Administrator for 14 years.
