Police charge man with DWI: Pedestrian dies after struck by vehicle in Old Town Manassas Dec. 2

On December 2, 2023, at 11:01 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to the 8900 block of Center Street for an auto accident with a pedestrian being struck. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by emergency medical personnel.

Prince William County Police reported that the investigation revealed the driver of a 1994 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Davis Ford Rd. at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the eastbound lanes, and left the roadway. The vehicle traveled off road before striking a tree and coming to rest.

Governor Glenn Youngkin ordered that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in memory and respect of the 16th Anniversary of the Virginia Tech shooting. Some 32 people were killed in this incident.
