On April 27, 2024 Prince William County Police Department crash investigators report they obtained arrest warrants for the driver of the truck who was involved in the fatal collision with a motorcycle rider that occurred in the area of Richmond Hwy. and Pine Bluff Dr. in Dumfries (22026) on April 24, 2024.
Over the next four months, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will stop all lanes of traffic for up to 30 minutes between midnight and 2 a.m. while crews install 36 gantries between the Capital Beltway and Route 29 in Centreville for the I-66 Active Traffic Management system.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Nov. 12 that nominations are now being accepted for the 2015 Governor’s Volunteerism and Community Service Awards. The nomination period ends at 6:30 p.m. January 28.

The US Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $100,000 grant to Fauquier County Public Schools for a project that will train more than 1,000 school personnel and community members to respond to mental illness in children and youth. Fauquier school division is the only one in Virginia to receive such a grant.
A dozen Prince William County Schools' world language teachers including several from our area were presenters and participants at this year’s Foreign Language Association of Virginia conference. Two county Spanish teachers were rated tops among 200+ presenters. About 800 teachers and administrators attended the conference.
