How to start a Neighborhood Watch program and other crime prevention strategies that can help communities avoid crime will be the subject of an Aug. 28 evening workshop at Prince William County government's Development Services Building.

New results from the Virginia Department of Education show that Prince William County Schools' student body is meeting or exceeding state pass rates on almost all Standards of Learning (SOL) tests.

A firefighter was injured and three people were displaced when Prince William County and Manassas City Fire and Rescue units were dispatched in connection with a two story single family house fire in the 10300 block of Navarone Place, on Monday, Aug,12, at approximately 1:50 p.m.

On Monday, August 12, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Prince William County Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to a two-story single family house fire in the 13100 block of Piedmont Vista Drive. Upon arrival, fire and rescue units found a rapidly spreading fire on the back side of the house extending into the attic, according to fire officials.

Greater Prince William Health Center on Ridgewood Center Drive in Woodbridge/Lake Ridge is offering free health screenings for all Prince William County residents, Aug. 13-15, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during National Health Center Week.
