PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.

An 11-year-old male was charged Feb. 27 with "knowingly communicating a false threat to bomb" after a bomb threat was found in a bathroom stall at Covington-Harper Elementary School in Dumfries. The school was evacuated around 2 p.m Feb. 26. After a search of the property and surrounding area with the assistance of Prince William and Va. State Police K-9 units, officers determined that the threat was not credible.

On February 26 at 11 a..m., a School Resource Officer received information of a potential threat of violence against a Prince William County Public School teacher at Patriot High School), according to Officer Nathan Probus, spokesman for PWC Police Department.
