PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.

March 18 - 24, 2018 is Virginia Agriculture Week and the ideal time to celebrate the success of Virginia’s leading private industry, agriculture. Agriculture has been the backbone of the state's economy for more than four centuries.

Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman, said a citizen had contacted the Public Safety Communications Center to report that a vehicle appeared to be on fire inside the park. Fire crews responded and located the vehicle fully engulfed. When the fire was extinguished, fire crews located a body inside the vehicle and contacted police.

Colgan High School sophomore Lierin Simms was the grand prize winner n the 2018 Water Art Invitational, sponsored annually by the Prince William County Service Authority. Interpreting the theme "Water Makes Everything Happen," Simms' painting captured the importance of clean water to humans and how we impact the environment.

Prince William County Public Schools recently hosted the annual Virginia State Conference for Educators Rising (formerly Future Educators Association). Ten PWC high school students won awards.

Eleanor Sigrest, whose goal is to the first person on the planet Mars, has been inducted as a lifetime fellow of the American Junior Academy of Science (AJAS), America’s only honor research society for high school scientists.
