Manassas to participate in statewide tornado drill on March 11

Do you know the difference between a tornado watch and a tornado warning? On March 11 at 9:45 a.m. the City of Manassas will participate in the Statewide Tornado Drill –a joint effort of National Weather Service and Virginia Department of Emergency Management.

No burning before 4 p.m. until April 30

Virginia’s 4 p.m. Burning Law goes into effect Feb. 15th – the start of spring fire season. The law prohibits burning before 4 p.m. each day until April 30th if the fire is in, or within 300 feet of, woodland, brushland or fields containing dry grass or other flammable materials.

Vint Hill Road water connection postponed to Feb. 6
