Residents should respond before the filing deadline of May 14. The police department proposes purchases of supplies and equipment to facilitate police work and officer and community safety at a total cost of $19,639.

PWC shelter offers free senior pet adoptions for seniors

Prince William County VA seniors 60 and older can adopt a senior dog or cat age 5 and older for free through a new program, "Seniors for Seniors," at the Prince William County Animal Shelter. All pets will be microchipped and there will be a microchip registration charge.

No one was home around 11 p.m. on Friday, April 13, when a fire did an estimated $80,000 damage to a house, attic and deck in Dumfries VA, a Prince William County Fire & Rescue spokesman said.
