Nagel Street house fire displaces four residents in Manassas

A home on Nagel Street in the city of Manassas was severely damaged by fire, and four residents were displaced by a fire Friday, Feb. 13, around 6 p.m., according to Patty Prince, public affairs specialist for the city government.

Building collapses on Battle Street in Manassas

At about 9 p.m. on February 14, a building on Battle Street in the historic downtown area of the City of Manassas had a substantial collapse, according to Patty Prince, public affairs specialist for the city government.

Suspect escapes while at hospital in Woodbridge

Prince William County Police report that a suspect, Theresa Elaine Brown, 24, of Woodbridge complained of pain, while in custody, and was subsequently transported to Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center for evaluation. While at the hospital, the suspect accessed a secure hallway from her room and was able to escape from the facility around 4 a.m.

Local man to explain firsthand experience with Alzheimer’s in talk at Gainesville

On February 26th at 7 pm, Gainesville Marque resident and author, Frank Fuerst, will be speaking about his 17-year journey as caregiver for his wife, June, an Alzheimer’s patient. As a result of that journey, Frank wrote the prize-winning Alzheimer’s Care With Dignity, a book he would have liked to have had during June’s illness.

According to Anthem, hackers breached the company's computer systems and gained access to the names, birthdays, medical ID's, Social Security numbers, email addresses, and employment information of 80 million customers across the nation. The Virginia numbers are not yet known but the estimate is 3 million.
