On January 31 at 6:05AM, officers responded to the area of Cardinal Dr and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is seeking partners to participate in the commonwealth’s Summer Food Service Program to ensure that children have access to nutritious meals during months when school is not in session.

Section 22-169 of the Prince William County Code requires all businesses and other non-residential properties that produce trash within the county to report on its activities by February 15th of each year for the previous calendar year. Home-based businesses and businesses located within the incorporated towns of Dumfries, Haymarket, Occoquan, or Quantico are exempt from filing this report. Most can file online in about ten minutes.

Gainesville District Supervisor Pete Candland presented the Gainesville Hero Award to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Drive, Gray Face Acres and Carried to Full Term in a ceremony Jan. 29. The Gainesville Hero Award recognizes individuals and organizations who work to make our community a better place.

PE teachers are making classes more engaging with the use of Heart Zone Monitors that give students the chance to see their effort levels. Students wear the monitors on their arm during cardio-respiratory endurance activities, where they can see changes in their heart rate as they participate in class.
