City of Manassas buildings closed to the public

Out of an abundance of caution and concern for Manassas City residents and staff and given the rapidly evolving situation with novel coronavirus (COVID-19), City Manager W. Patrick Pate has decided to close all City of Manassas buildings to the public effective immediately March 19 until further notice.

Bishop Burbidge suspends all public masses due to coronavirus

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, Diocese of Arlington, issued a video message March 16 to the faithful in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19). In the video, Bishop Burbidge announced that the public celebration of all Masses in the Diocese is suspended until further notice. He asked priests to keep churches open for prayer but stressed social distancing and not exceeding the 10-person limit.

PW County Executive Chris Martino declares local “State of Emergency”

County Executive Chris Martino signed a Declaration of Local State of Emergency for Prince William County in response to the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control to limit crowds of people to 50 or less to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
