National Geographic Society announced the election of Dr. Ángel Cabrera to its Board of Trustees. Cabrera, president of George Mason University, joins two other new Board members named the week of Feb. 27.

Virginia Historical Society offers a 7-session preparatory course on how to take the United States Citizenship Test. Unlike other citizenship programs, this course, held at the VHS in Richmond, offers opportunities to view original historical objects, maps, books, and documents as well as engage with experts in the history of this state and nation.

On March 3 at 9:18AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Wells Fargo Bank at 2867 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man approached the bank area, then passed a note demanding money, according to a report from Officer Nathan Probus, Prince William County Police Department spokesman.

Prince William County School Board members have scheduled seven Town Hall Meetings on the budget process March 3-9. Three of the meetings are on Monday, March 6 and two of the meetings are on Tuesday, March 7. The meeting dates, times, locations and hosts are noted below.

The movie “Resilience” will be shown on Wednesday, March 29, at 6 p.m. in the Fauquier High School auditorium at an event co-hosted by Fauquier County Public Schools and the Greater Piedmont Trauma Informed Community Network.

On March 1, the male suspect involved in the homicide of Silvia Patricia RAMOS GUILLEN, which occurred on February 17 at a residence located in the 7300 block of Forrester Ln in Manassas, died as a result of his injuries sustained during the incident, according to Officer Nathan Probus, Prince William County Police Department spokesman.
