The Prince William County School Board elected Justin David Wilk, Potomac District, to a one-year term as the vice chairman of the board Jan. 2, 2019. He replaces Lillie Jesse, Occoquan District representative, who had been vice chairman for several years. The School Board recently changed its by-laws so the vice chairman serves a one-year term and cannot succeed himself or herself.

Novant Health has named Frank E. Emory Jr. executive vice president and chief legal officer. In this new role, Emory will oversee the legal, government relations, risk management, corporate audit and compliance teams.

On December 23 at 10:37PM, investigators from the Prince William County Police Department's Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 10900 block of Bristow Rd in Bristow (20136) to investigate a single vehicle crash. According to the police report, the investigation revealed that a 1990 Acura Integra was traveling eastbound on Bristow Rd when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck two trees.

Medicaid education, application assistance and healthcare resources will be provided by Novant UVA Health during two free fairs open to the public on Tuesday, Jan. 15 in Culpeper and on Thursday, Jan. 24 in Manassas Park.

Among ten new historical markers approved for placement along Virginia roads will be one to highlight George Washington’s early and influential biographer Mason Locke Weems of Dumfries in Prince William County.
