A caller reported to police that inappropriate words were written in chalk on the community basketball courts sometime between 3:00PM on September 26 and 12:00PM on September 27.

On September 26, a second suspect was located, in connection with a Sept. 16 homicide in Dumfries and taken into custody without incident in Spotsylvania County, where he will remain incarcerated until brought back to Prince William County. Detectives previously arrested another man last week as part of the investigation.

Prince William County Demographer Brian Engelmann has announced that workers from the US Census Bureau will be in the field doing some preliminary work through the middle of October. The canvassers need to go out to specific neighborhoods to verify the addresses that can’t be determined by using GIS maps, Engelmann said. “The canvassers will ask a few questions to verify the address and inquire about any additional living quarters on the property for inclusion in the Census process.”
