Prince William County Police Department's crime log for Friday, Feb. 24, 2017

Shortly after midnight on Feb. 24, 2017, an adult male was sitting in his vehicle parked in the area of Burnside Rd and Ashton Ave when he was shot by an unknown person. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at a local hospital.

Murder Investigation *ADDITIONAL ARREST – On February 23, detectives from the Prince William County Police Department's Homicide Unit obtained a murder warrant for a sixth suspect sought in connection to the murder of Christian Alexander SOSA RIVAS, according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman. the body of Sosas Rivas, a resident of Fairfax, was found along the edge of the Potomac River in the Dumfries section of Prince William County on Jan. 12, 2017.

*UPDATE: Makayla Mattei, 15, who was reported to Prince William County police as missing and endangered on February 20, was located safe and unharmed in the Harrisonburg, VA area a short time ago, according to a report from Prince William County Police.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On February 18 at 5:45PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 14900 block of Deepwood Ln in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a crash involving an ATV.

On Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at 6:53 p.m., Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched to a townhouse fire located in the 14400 block of Whisperwood Court in Montclair.
