Chief Barry M. Barnard has announced the promotion of Major Jarad L. Phelps to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and his appointment as Deputy Chief effective Nov. 9, 2019. Phelps is a native of Prince William County and has 23 years of law enforcement experience, beginning his career with the Prince William County Police Department in 1996 as a patrol officer.

The Prince William Department of Fire and Rescue and the members of the Fire and Rescue System have begun collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation. This year’s event will run through Dec. 14.

On November 5 at 11:44PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the area of Robinson Ct and Harrison St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate three stabbings. The investigation revealed that a fight took place in that area involving known parties, according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman.
