Manassas City Police, collaboratiing with task forces from Northern Virginia, Prince William County-Manassas-Manassas Park, US Marshals Service and US Secret Service apprehended David Mendoza, 18, without incident on Shady Grove Circle, in Manassas, around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016. Ten charges were placed against the suspect.

Prince William County police are seeking the public's help in locating Zion LeBron Favors, a 3 month old black male, 1’6’’, and 10lbs. He has brown eyes and short brown hair. Zion was last seen wearing a diaper. The infant was taken from a Dumfries motel, police said.

Dr. Sandra Mitchell, associate superintendent for instruction for Fauquier County Public Schools, has announced her intent to retire effective Jan. 1, 2017. She will leave FCPS to become a part-time educational leadership instructor and the program administrator for the leadership preparation program for the University of Virginia, Falls Church campus.

There was a brief precautionary evacuation Sept. 1 at Osbourn Park High School in Manassas due to a fire alarm signal. All are safe. The fire department has given the all clear and students and staff have returned to the building.

Residents of East End Mobile Home Park in Manassas are currently being notified by the property owner of a decision to close the park.
