OmniRide staff will welcome back riders at commuter lots - buses on Friday schedule

OmniRide has resumed operating all routes and increased service levels on OmniRide Express buses. Weekday Express service to destinations in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. are running on a Friday schedule. The increase in service levels was based on the improving COVID-19 conditions, and the Governor’s order to begin reopening the state.

April 21 doggie bake sale for bark park

Raise the ‘Woof’ for the City of Manasas Park's first doggie bake sale, a fundraiser for the Manassas Park Dog Park that will be held at the park on Saturday, April 21, from noon to 3 p.m. rain or shine. Treats for dogs and owners will be available.

A 2.75-mile dog walk in Lake Ridge VA on Saturday, April 28 will raise funds for the first public dog park in Prince William County. The dog park will be located in Lake Ridge at the intersection of Minnieville, Colby and Sturbridge Roads.

Manassas City Police ask for public comment on grant application

The Manassas VA City Police Department is asking for comments from the community on its grant application for the 2012 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program. Residents should respond before the filing deadline of May 14. The police department proposes purchases of supplies and equipment to facilitate police work and officer and community safety at a total cost of $19,639.

PWC shelter offers free senior pet adoptions for seniors

Prince William County VA seniors 60 and older can adopt a senior dog or cat age 5 and older for free through a new program, "Seniors for Seniors," at the Prince William County Animal Shelter. All pets will be microchipped and there will be a microchip registration charge.

Public meetings in May on SuperNoVa transpo vision plan

Residents can review the results of land use and transportation analysis and review a summary of future regional transit and TDM (Transportation Demand Management) needs at three public meetings in May. The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) will conduct the meetings on the Super NoVa Transit/Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Vision Plan.

Hylton Center gala honors the Mertens, underwrites venue for arts groups

A May 5 reception, dinner and show benefit event in Manassas VA will honor George Mason University President Alan G. Merten and Mrs. Sally L. Merten for their leadership in bringing the Hylton Performing Arts Center to Prince William County and the Northern Virginia region.
