PW Police report passenger dies from injuries sustained in an April 15 traffic collision

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 Pickup truck was traveling westbound on Yates Ford Rd. approaching Evans Ford Rd. when a 1993 Buick Roadmaster traveling eastbound on Yates Ford Rd. entered the intersection in front of the truck’s path of travel. The truck and Roadmaster collided within the intersection. The driver and female passenger of the Roadmaster were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. A Pug in the Roadmaster was declared deceased on scene.

Spring Tea celebrates mothers

Prince William Health System Foundation's 8th annual Spring Tea, on May 15, was held at Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville, Va. The event brought mothers and daughters of all ages together. This mother and daughter even color-coordinated their outfits. Many area residents and businesspeople remembered loved ones they lost to breast cancer. The tea was a fundraiser for The Cancer Center at Lake Manassas. Many silent auction items were awarded to the highest bidders.

Covington donates $5,000 to Parkside Middle School

Brentsville Supervisor Wally Covington donated $5,000

to Parkside Middle School as matching funds for the school's single-event fall fundraiser. The money will go to technology upgrades at the Manassas school in Prince William County. Covington made good on his promise at the opening night of the Manassas school's "Beauty and the Beast" presentation in early May. Covington is shown here reading to school children at another area Prince William County school, Pace West, earlier this school year.

Farmers markets now open or opening soon
