PWC Police Beat 7/26/11

Burglary-ARRESTOn July 25, police made an arrest in the below burglary reported on July 11. The investigation revealed the accused had pawned jewelry stolen in that burglary the day after the incident on July 12. The accused also stole a check book from the residence and on two separate dates, July 17 and 21, cashed two of the checks receiving an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The accused was located at his residence with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force and arrested without incident. A search warrant was executed at the residence of the accused at 12375 Midsummer Lane in Woodbridge. Other items from the burglary were recovered.  Arrested: Cedric Francis Campbell, 22, of 12375 Midsummer Lane in Woodbridge. Charged with one count of burglary, one count of grand larceny, one count of larceny with intent to sell, two counts of forgery, two counts of uttering and two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses. Court date set for Aug. 24, 2011, held without bond.
Burglary (Previously Released)
On July 11 at 11 p.m., police responded to the 12700 block of Captains Cove in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 10:45 p.m. Entry appeared to have been gained through a rear door that had been forced opened. Jewelry valued around $18,000 was reported missing.

ARRESTS
Pursuit / Driving under the Influence [DUI]

On July 25 at 11:26 p.m., police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Opitz Blvd. near Potomac Festival in Woodbridge. The driver, later identified as the accused, ignored the officer’s emergency equipment, including lights and siren, and continued to drive further down Opitz Blvd. The accused stopped the vehicle near the commuter lot on Old Bridge Road where she was arrested without further incident. Arrested:  Carolyn Ann Gallegos, 52, of 12705 Lotte Dr. in Woodbridge. Charged with DUI-second in five years, eluding and driving in violation of probation. Court date and bond information unavailable.

Narcotics Investigation
On July 25, police concluded a narcotics investigation into the distribution of drugs with the execution of a search warrant at 14218 Bismark Ave. in Woodbridge. The search warrant resulted in marijuana, prescription pills, packaging material and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency being recovered. Police also made the following arrest. Arrested: Jayson Nickyle Huff, 24, of 14218 Bismark Ave. in Woodbridge. Charged with distribution of a schedule I or II narcotic [cocaine]. Court date set for Sept. 19, 2011, held on a $5,000 secured bond.

Narcotics Investigation
On July 19, police began an investigation after information was received about a possible drug transaction. Police located the target vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Minnieville and Old Bridge roads in Lake Ridge. A search of the vehicle resulted in approximately 1.5 lbs of marijuana being recovered. A search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence of the driver, the accused, at 12488 Skipper Cir. in Woodbridge. The search warrant resulted in additional marijuana, packing material and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency being seized.  Arrested: Adrian Leon Rhones, 32, of 12488 Skipper Cir. in Woodbridge. Charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Court date set for Aug. 22, 2011, bond information unavailable.

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary to a Business

On July 26 at 3:49 a.m., police responded to PJ’s at 19122 Fuller Heights Road in Triangle for an alarm. Police arrived and discovered the front glass door broken out. A perimeter was established and a police K-9 was called. Fifteen packs of cigarettes were reported missing. Several of the packs were located by police in the surrounding neighborhood. Investigation continues. 

Burglary
On July 24 at 9:17 p.m., police responded to the 10400 block of Grant Ave in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between noon and 4 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing.
