The United States Postal Service Oct. 2 released a new Forever stamp honoring the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an icon of American culture. The stamp’ was unveiled atat the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery during a first-day-of-issue dedication ceremony that was open to the public.
The Kettle Run High School Band has earned the distinction of a “Virginia Honor Band” for the fifth consecutive year. The school has a Nokesville address and is located in Fauquier County VA.

Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) today testified before a House subcommittee in support of relocating the FBI headquarters to Virginia. He said..."there is no doubt the FBI needs a new headquarters’ building. On March 12, Virginia residents can practice taking cover from tornadoes during the Statewide Tornado Drill, at 9:45 a.m. The National Weather Service will send a test tornado warning that will trigger a tone alert and broadcast message on NOAA Weather Radio.
Delegate David I. Ramadan will host a community town hall meeting on Saturday, March 23 at 6 p.m. at Alvey Elementary School to discuss the recent Virginia General Assembly Session, and other community concerns.

Prince William County VA Police Department's crime report for Friday, March 8, 2013 includes an arrest in the March 7 bank robbery in Bristow, a stabbing at a pawn shop, Dollar Tree employee fights off would-be robber and a felony child abuse case involving salt and ice "game" on bare skin.
As of 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative crews were pushing to restore power to nine customers in Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, and Stafford counties, according to a news release.
Michèle B. McQuigg, Clerk of the Prince William County circuit court is set to reveal "important and previously unknown historical information" that was discovered when old circuit court records were digitized.

A funeral service for Gary Ray Maness, 62, of Haymarket, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Clover Hill Church, 12310 Bailey Bridge Road, Midlothian, VA 23112, near Richmond. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Gary went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 12, 2023.
Governor Glenn Youngkin ordered that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in memory and respect of the 16th Anniversary of the Virginia Tech shooting. Some 32 people were killed in this incident.
Pat Conroy, who served four consecutive two-year terms as mayor of Occoquan, from July 1998 through June 2006, recently passed away in Florida.
