“Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” high-visibility crackdown will run August 21st through the Labor Day holiday on September 7th. Prince William County Police, as well as law enforcement agencies throughout Virginia and the region, are targeting this time period because holiday weekends bring a surge in drunk-driving.

Prince William County Public School students beat the pass rates of counterparts statewide on the latest Standards of Learning assessments in almost all subject areas, and across most demographic groups, according to initial results released Aug. 11 by the Virginia Department of Education.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently amended the County Code to increase the amount people are charged for having their cars towed after parking illegally. The amendment allows the rate for towing vehicles weighing less than 10,001 to go from $125 to $135. The rate to tow vehicles weighing between 10,001 and 26,000 pounds has gone from $175 to $250, and the rate to tow vehicles weighing more than 26,000 pounds has increased from $300 to $475.
