Darnell Greene, an eighth-grade mathematics teacher at Manassas Park City Schools’ Manassas Park Middle School, has been named the 2025 Virginia Regional Teacher of the Year (Region 4) by the Virginia Department of Education.
Due to high winds in tonight's forecast, the gantry work scheduled tonight between Rt. 123 and Nutley Street on INterstate 66 has been RESCHEDULED to tomorrow night (Friday, Feb. 6) with intermittent closures of up to 30 minutes between midnight and 5 a.m. All lanes of eastbound Interstate 66 will close intermittently between midnight and 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4 and Thursday, Feb. 5 for the installation of gantries. Each closure will last up to 30 minutes, according to a news alert from Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

According to Anthem, hackers breached the company's computer systems and gained access to the names, birthdays, medical ID's, Social Security numbers, email addresses, and employment information of 80 million customers across the nation. The Virginia numbers are not yet known but the estimate is 3 million.
There was a brief precautionary evacuation Feb. 5 at Henderson Elementary School due to a fire alarm signal. All are safe.
The board of directors of Didlake, Inc., a leading provider of employment and other opportunities for people with disabilities, has named Rick Sebastian as its new president, effective April 1. Sebastian will assume the role of president as part of an ongoing transition process in which he will ultimately succeed current president and CEO Rex Parr.
Graduation dates have been set for the Class of 2015 at Fauquier, Kettle Run and Liberty High Schools in Fauquier County.
