Prince William Board of County Supervisors and the Prince William County Police Department will conduct a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Charlie T. Deane Police Station on Tuesday, June 19, at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony, open to the public, will be followed by tours of the facility, at 5036 Davis Ford Road, in Woodbridge. An open house with demonstrations for the community will be at the new police station this Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

City of Manassas Planning Commission will lead a Comprehensive Plan update Kickoff Session & Community Conversation on Land Use on Tuesday, June 19 at 7 PM, at the Boys and Girls Club, 9501 Dean Park Lane. The public is invited to attend this session and the others to follow.

​Drivers on Route 234 should start to see traffic improvements around Hoadly Road. The Prince William County Department of Transportation recently completed a project that added an additional left-turn lane from Route 234 onto Hoadly Road.

Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association and Prince William County Supervisor Frank J. Principi announced June 14 that the 3rd Annual International Cultural Festival will be held at 7 p.m., on Thursday, June 21, at the Dr. AJ Ferlazzo Government Center Atrium in Woodbridge. The event is free and open to the public.

In his continuing series of meetings/talks in various Prince William County communities, Chief Barry Barnard of the Prince William County Police Department will host a “Conversation with the Chief” on Wednesday, June 27, at the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department located at 11310 Coles Road in Manassas beginning at 7 p.m. Get crime prevention tips and learn about employment opportunities too.

In late spring and early summer bears are hungry and on the move in search of food. This primal need can cause them to conflict with homeowners and residents using parks and other unimproved areas. There has already been a sighting in eastern Prince William County.

Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center's new façade is now apparent to all passersby on Sudley Road. A grand opening celebration for community and business leaders from 4 to 6 p.m. on June 12 will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new façade, visitor corridor and healing garden.
