A Latino Outreach Event featuring resources available in Prince William County all be held on Oct. 9 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Freedom High School, 15201 Neabsco Mills Rd. Woodbridge, Va 22191.

September 11 Remembrance Ceremony at Prince William County 9/11 Liberty Memorial Fountain

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 members of the community are invited to join members of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors and others in a remembrance ceremony to honor and remember those who died during the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. The ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the 9/11 Liberty Memorial Fountain, 1 County Complex Ct, Woodbridge, Va.

Female motorcyclist dies after Sept. 5 accident with trash truck on Old Bridge Road

The investigation revealed the operator of a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling westbound on Old Bridge Rd. approaching Occoquan Rd. at a high rate of speed when the operator lost control and separated from the motorcycle before sliding under and being run over by a 2009 Roll-off Dumpster truck. The motorcycle operator was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Fall Cleanup for community Sept. 7 at Haymarket Elementary

Prince William County Government will conduct a Dumster Day Cleanup & Paper Shred Event this coming Saturday, Sept. 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Haymarket Elementary School 5500 Learning Ln, Haymarket, VA 20169.

PW SPCA to cover all pet adoption fees at Sept. 22 open house

Prince William County Animal Shelter will host an Open House on Sunday, Sept. 22. During the Open House, all adoption fees and dog and cat spay or neuter fees will be covered by the Prince William SPCA

Electra names B. Marc Allen as chief executive officer

Electra.aero, Inc. (Electra), which is headquartered at Manassas Airport, reports the appointment of B. Marc Allen as its new Chief Executive Officer. Allen joins Electra after a distinguished career at The Boeing Company, where he most recently served as Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President for Strategy and Corporate Development.

Nokesville man dies from injuries in Bristow Rd. crash Aug. 28

The police investigation revealed the driver of a 2021 Toyota Tundra was traveling eastbound on Bristow Rd. when the vehicle crossed over the center line and into the westbound lane of travel--striking a 2003 Lexus GX in a head-on collision. The impact of the crash caused the Lexus to spin off of the roadway and come to a rest in the ditch while the Tundra remained on the roadway.

US Sen. Tim Kaine to visit NVCC in Manassas and Quantico Marine Base Child Care Aug. 28

The visits are to celebrate the millions of dollars in federal funding that Sen. Kaine secured to support workforce development, expand health care, and increase child care access. He will also discuss historic legislation he helped pass, including the Inflation Reduction Act, to lower health care and prescription drug costs for millions of Americans.

UVA grad Lauren Coughlin among five women golfers already qualified for USA’s Solheim Cup team

Although there is not necessarily a home-course advantage for the Solheim Cup match up Sept. 13-15 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Gainesville, locals can root on Lauren Coughlin who grew up in Chesapeake, VA, was named an All-American while attending the University of Virginia from 2011-2016 and was the 2016 ACC individual champion.

Gas leak closes Sentara Century Building in Woodbridge today - Monday, Aug. 19

Washington Gas is currently onsite addressing the situation. There are no reported injuries to patients or medical personnel. However, all offices in the Sentara Century Building are closed for the day so appointments will be rescheduled.
