The Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) has partnered with the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) to research, share and evaluate businesses who have made advancements in information technology (IT) that may be of value to state government. The partnership will be carried out by CIT’s Innovation Center of Excellence (ICE).

Schools across the county will be celebrating in the coming months, as 49 have earned the title, “School of Excellence,” two more than took the honor for the 2015-16 school year.
Let us not dwell on imperfections that existed in people who lived during the founding of our nation and during ensuing struggles to maintain our union. Let us honor the flag and our National Anthem as symbols of our freedoms.

The School Board of the City of Manassas announced Nov. 27 that it will begin the process of hiring a new superintendent by seeking public input on qualifications. The search follows the announcement of the retirement of current Superintendent, Catherine Magouyrk, effective June 30, 2018.

The US House of Representatives will consider Congresswoman Comstock’s bipartisan Resolution this upcoming week requiring all Members and staff to complete mandatory anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training during each session of Congress
Prince William Board of County Supervisors Nov. 21 voted to name the new Central District Police Station after retired Police Chief Charlie T. Deane. When he retired in 2012 with 42 years service, Deane was the longest-serving of the original 42-member of the Prince William County Police Department.

Ashley Sarahy LEMUS, one of the three teens reported as missing and endangered on Nov. 18, was located in Fairfax County today and is safe. Breonia Andreia THOMAS was located yesterday in Washington D.C. The remaining teen, Chamareya Rontavia WRIGHT, is still missing.
