PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Governor Ralph Northam is urging Virginians to purchase flood insurance or renew their policies on or before May 1, a month before the official start of hurricane season. Flooding is the most common natural disaster, and many people do not realize that standard homeowners and renters insurance policies do not cover damage from floods.

Virginia State University has been awarded $249,800 by the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA) to expand its urban agriculture education through distance learning. The Sustainable Urban Agriculture Certificate Program will be changed from its current face-to-face format to a self-paced, online option.
