On the five-year anniversary of Haiti’s devastating January 12, 2010 earthquake, a Haymarket, Va. non-profit is on the ground and continuing to help orphans there. "There are 1 million orphans and abandoned children in Haiti,” Debbie Harvey said. “We currently love and support 40 kids ages two through 18 in our Kay Anj Village."

Students from the Governor’s School @ Innovation Park in Manassas, Va., have earned the title of Best in State in the third Verizon Innovative App Challenge, a national competition in which students design a mobile application concept that addresses a need or problem in their local schools or communities
Due to a nonprofit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., and Hayward DuPont Staffing, Manassas City Police Department’s Canine Unit has been awarded three ballistic K9 vests through a nationwide event that took place in late 2014.
