Dominion Power will host an open house on Wednesday, July 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Battlefield High School in Haymarket to further discuss the Haymarket Transmission Project with residents in the community.
VA Rte. 28 (Nokesville Road) between Bristow Village Boulevard and Battalion Square will again be closed in both directions Friday and Sunday nights so that crews can continue storm sewer line work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Rep. Rob Wittman, who represents part of Prince William County, and Rep. Ron Kind, from Wisconsin, introduced the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act, which funds habitat protection, education, researching, and monitoring to provide long-term protection of neotropical migratory birds.
Fauquier County Public Schools and Defense Acquisition University will conduct an Engineering Management Workshop summer camp from August 3-7 at Kettle Run High School in Nokesville. The camp is for rising ninth and tenth graders.
The Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College needs part-time adjunct faculty to teach courses in several disciplines. Interested people are encouraged to attend a job fair at the campus July 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.
“Despite the record decrease in traffic deaths over this past holiday weekend, the fact that DUI arrests increased by almost 20 percent is of extreme concern,” said Colonel W. Steven Flaherty, Virginia State Police Superintendent, in a press release. As part of the Operation C.A.R.E. enforcement effort, Virginia State Police troopers arrested 96 impaired drivers for DUI—an increase from the 77 DUI arrests made over the July 4 holiday in 2014.
