Through the 2015 Pesticide Disposal Program 62,261 pounds of unwanted pesticides were removed in Virginia localities including Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park. Participants included agricultural producers, licensed pesticide dealers and pest control firms, golf course operators and homeowners.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today, Jan. 4, that Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Havana. Prince William County will provide greater access to services and have more emergency shelter space for homeless people beginning in the winter of 2016-17, according to a news release.

A $23,000 grant recently awarded to Prince William County Public Schools will support a program to teach 150-200 students across the county how their local, state, and federal governments work, give them an understanding of how to change public policy, and provide hands-on experience researching and debating current issues in the community.
