The Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College welcomed several new faculty members at the start of the fall 2016 semester including Prince William County professors from Haymarket and Lake Ridge.
Although winter heat, spring freezes and too much late spring/early summer rain combined to make 2016 a challenging year for Virginia’s apple growers, the state is on track to have a good crop. Growers having been picking Gala apples since August and are now picking Red and Golden Delicious apples, with Ginger Gold, Pink Lady, McIntosh, Honey Crisp, Stayman and more to follow.
Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) is again participating in Try Transit Week (Sept. 19-23) and Car Free Day (Sept. 22) – two events that encourage people to find alternatives to driving solo and award prizes for pledging to do so!

September is Bicyclist and Pedestrian Awareness Month in Virginia and, as fall temperatures lure more people outside for recreation, the Prince William County Police Department encourages County residents to share the road.
