Intermittent road closures Old Centreville Road in Manassas tonight due to bridge work

MANASSAS – Intermittent full closures will occur along Old Centreville Road on the bridge over Bull Run Thursday night, July 20 between midnight and 4 a.m. in order to place bridge beams, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Manassas City Council has had second thoughts about hiking by one cent the BPOL (Business, Professional and Occupational License) tax rate charged on retail sales, real estate and professional services and contractors and subcontractors.

Covington donates $5,000 to Parkside Middle School

Visitation and memorial services for Thomas J. Grizzard Jr. will begin at noon on July 15 at the Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. The family of Suzanne Davis Miller, 45, who passed away June 28, 2017 at her home after a lengthy illness, will receive friends on Friday, July 7, from noon to 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 9750 Wellington Road, Manassas. A celebration of Suzanne’s life will begin at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary with The Rev. Rudy Tucker, Jr. and The Rev. Janet Salbert officiating.

A funeral service for Zachary Hasso Wales, 20, of Bristow, who passed peacefully into Heaven on June 19, 2017, will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 11 a.m., at Gainesville United Methodist Church, where Zachary was a Youth Group Leader and a Confirmation Mentor.
