LOCCA’s Feb. 23 meeting cancelled out of respect for Michele McQuigg

The Feb. 23 meeting of the Lake Ridge Occoquan Communities Civic Association (LOCCA) has been cancelled, according to Tom Burrell. Those projects scheduled for discussion at the Feb. 23 LOCCA meeting will be deferred to the group's March 23 meeting or, if need be, to a special meeting, Burrell added.

Bull Run photoA fundraiser at Battlefield High School was held May 7 to raise funds for a new Gainesville library. Thousands of Legos were available for those who wanted to build something cool. Many youngsters came out to enjoy the day. They could bounce in the moonbounce, check out the many vendors, buy some used books or bid on more than 70 silent-auction items.

Timothy (Tim) Michael John Peyton, 48, of Manassas, VA died at home and went to be with Jesus on Feb. 9, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held at Chapel Springs Assembly of God 11500 New Life Way Bristow VA on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017. The Chapel will open at 10 a.m. for friends and family. Service will be at 11 a.m.

A life celebration service for Hugh Burton Browning, a former principal of Woodbridge High School, and a Prince William County Schools employee for 37 years from 1957 to 1994, was held on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017 at at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road Woodbridge VA 22191. Browning, who lived in Woodbridge, VA, died in his home on Sunday Jan 29, 2017.
