NEW Kilby Elementary School in Woodbridge warmly welcomed and dedicated

Elected officials, staff, students, and nearly 300 families joined Prince William County Schools Superintendent Steve Walts to officially rededicate R. Dean Kilby Elementary School in Woodbridge on May 23. The bright, spacious, and colorful building replaces the school that opened on the same site in 1959, some 56 years ago.

Farm Tour Stop 5: Oakwood Farm

This horse farm will be open Saturday only; it will reveal the work Prince William Soil and Water Conservation District specialists completed with Edith Kennedy, owner, and other partners. The Gainesville farm is open Sept. 24 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

SAR burial ritual performed for compatriot CDR Robert W. Covey

CDR Robert W. Covey of Montclair was laid to rest among other American Veterans and heroes at Arlington National Cemetery on May 5, 2017. Following the performance of full military honors, members of the Sons of the American Revolution performed the SAR Burial Ritual led by the Colonel William Grayson Chapter from Manassas, VA.

William J. Mayhugh, Jr., lifelong resident of Gainesville, father of three

Visitation will be held Wednesday May 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadway Avenue, Warrenton, for William J. Mayhugh, Jr, 75, a lifelong resident of Gainesville, who passed away Saturday May 6, 2017 at home surrounded by his children. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 11, at Greenwich Presbyterian Church 15305 Vint Hill Rd. Nokesville, VA 20181, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery.
