Beginning Sept. 1, 2021, all hunters (including those who are not required to purchase a license) who harvest a deer, turkey, bear, bobcat, or elk, will need to check their harvest by calling DWR (866-GOT-GAME), logging on to gooutdoorsvirginia.com, or by using the mobile app harvest reporting system, GoOutdoorsVa (free through the app store).

Area residents won gold medals NVOS tennis matches Sept. 14-15.

Doris Woodring of Lake Ridge VA captured a gold medal in the Wii bowling competition that the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics held Sept. 10.

Registration opens July 1 for the 31st annual Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO) that will be held Sept. 7-19 with 50+ events at 17 venues throughout Northern Virginia. All registration is online on via mail. Previous competitors will receive a registration form in the mail in late June. A number of Prince William County residents were 2012 medalists.
