Beginning Sept. 1, 2021, all hunters (including those who are not required to purchase a license) who harvest a deer, turkey, bear, bobcat, or elk, will need to check their harvest by calling DWR (866-GOT-GAME), logging on to gooutdoorsvirginia.com, or by using the mobile app harvest reporting system, GoOutdoorsVa (free through the app store).

Fun Run Racing will host its second annual Freedom Firecracker 5K on Saturday, July 4. The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 1 mile Fun/Run Walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. Some 500 to 800 participants are expected.

For 33 years Departments of Parks and Recreation and Area Agencies on Aging in northern Virginia have sponsored the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics. Since that time, participation has increased to nearly 800 adults competing in more than 50 indoor and outdoor events

Reagan Middle School's archery team is on its way to the world tournament after turning in its highest score ever (3,303) at the NASP National Tournament in Louisville, KY to finish 13th out of 201 middle school teams in the bulls-eye competition. The team also finished 13th out of 100 teams in the 3D Challenge.
