Taxpayers are encouraged to pay their taxes before the Dec. 5 due date. A late payment penalty of 10 percent will apply to any unpaid tax balance after the Dec. 5 deadline. Additionally, interest will accrue monthly on unpaid balances at a rate of 10 percent per annum until they are fully paid.
Members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and their families often qualify for special tax benefits. An IRS news release describes some of the most common deductions and exclusions and tells where to get more information.
Determining where leaves can be left alone and where cleanup is necessary can help you strike a reasonable compromise between yard maintenance and land stewardship. Although the advice comes from a Stafford County news release, it is applicable here too,
