Beginning Sunday night, April 28, weather permitting, a portion of the northbound and southbound I-95 general purpose lanes in Prince William County will have nighttime single- and double-lane closures until late fall.
Fire crews or SWAT should not be cause for alarm if spotted swarming around the former Nokesville Elementary School in the weeks ahead. The now-closed school buildings and grounds will be used to provide realistic training to Prince William County first responders, enabling them to better serve all county residents.
Armed Robbery – On September 23rd at 1:24AM,prince William County Police officers responded to the 7-11 convenience store located at 13304 Occoquan Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery.
On September 22nd at 2:41PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Lake Ridge Middle School located at 12350 Mohican Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a report of someone with a gun near the school.
Burns & McDonnell’s Transmission & Distribution group won a competitive contract with the City of Manassas to provide electrical engineering services related to the design, evaluation, and maintenance of Manassas’ electrical and water systems, according to a news release from the Atlanta based firm.
The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will administer the $22 million grant over the next seven years beginning with nearly 6,000 seventh grade low-income students in 16 school districts this year through GEAR UP programs and (eventually) college scholarships to increase preparation and enrollment for post-secondary education.

Supervisor W.S. “Wally” Covington, Brentsville District, submitted his letter of resignation from the Prince William Board of County Supervisors on Friday, Sept. 19, to accept a judgeship in the General District Court of Prince William County.
On September 19th at 9:24AM, officers responded to Fred Lynn Middle School located at 1650 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a reported bomb threat.
