PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today, Jan. 27, that Virginia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased 0.2 percentage point in December to 4.8 percent and was down 0.4 percentage point from December 2013. Seasonally adjusted nonfarm employment was up 6,000 jobs between November 2014 and December 2014 to 3,797,300, surpassing the pre-recession peak
Virginia Department of Transportation's I-66 Public Information Meeting that was scheduled for tonight, Jan. 27, at Bull Run Elementary School in Centreville has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Still scheduled are the Jan. 28 info session at Battlefield High School in Haymarket and the Jan. 29 info session at VDOT headquarters in Fairfax.
We would like to let all of our Community Center Patrons know that due to the inclement weather this morning, the Community Center will open at 10:30am. Please note, all AM classes and Preschool will be cancelled.
All Prince William County Public Schools closed due to inclement weather in certain areas. Code Red for employees. All school division activities including Professional Development sessions are cancelled. SACC will not open. Telework subject to policy.
Prince William County School Board will hear the Superintendent’s proposed budget for 2015-16 on February 18 instead of two weeks earlier, as previously scheduled. Presentation of the proposed 2016-25 Capital Improvements Program will also be pushed back. The delays follow the cancellation of the January 21 School Board Meeting because of weather conditions.
All Prince William County Public Schools after-school and evening activities, including night school, GED and adult education are cancelled or must end by 5 p.m. due to weather conditions. SACC will remain open until normal 6:30 pick-up time.

Prince William County Service Authority (PWCSA) has announced plans to hold a second open house on the Occoquan Forest water and sewer construction project. The information event will be held on Monday, Jan. 26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at its Woodbridge headquarters, at 4 County Complex Court, on the county government site off Prince William Parkway.
Virginia Department of Transportation will be holding four public information meetings Jan. 26-27-28-29 for the public to learn more about plans to transform I-66 between US 15 in Haymarket and I-495/Capital Beltway. VDOT officials will be at Battlefield High School in Prince William County Wednesday, Jan. 28.
