15. The Virginia Department of Forestry (VDOF) reminds everyone to be extra careful when burning yard debris, or enjoying a campfire or backyard fire pit.

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA), who represents part of Prince William County and who is President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, released the following statement in support of Ukraine. Connolly joined Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the Crimea Platform Summit in Zagreb, Croatia.

This morning, Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022 at 5:19 AM fire and rescue units were dispatched to the 12000 block of Hatchway Ct. (Lake Ridge) for a reported single-family dwelling fire, according to Matt Smolsky, deputy chief of Prince William Fire & Rescue.

On Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022 at 9:05 PM Prince William Fire & Rescue units were dispatched to the 10200 block of Balls Ford Road (Manassas) for a reported single-family dwelling fire. Crews arrived to find a working basement fire with all occupants out of the home, according to Matt Smolsky, Deputy Fire Chief.

On Friday, Oct. 21, 2022 at 12:13 AM units were dispatched to the 15000 block of Mimosa Trail (Montclair) for a single-family dwelling fire.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Education, has announced his 2022-2023 Governor’s Physical Activity Award Program for School Personnel. The program emphasizes the connection between regular physical activity and its benefits to the overall health and wellness of school personnel.
