Prince William County VA Police Department reports there were no significant incidents or arrests from March 3; therefore no Daily Incident Report was distributed for Friday, March 04, 2016.

Man arrested near Potomac Mills in connection with Aspen Place incident in Manassas

Through a joint investigation March 3 with the Northern Virginia Gang task force, ATF, and the Manassas City Police Department arrest warrants were issued for Manuel Gonzalez for possession of a fire arm by a felon, use of a fire arm in the commission of a felony, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and discharge of a fire arm in public. The incident began around 1:30m p.m. with report of shots fired. Children were held at school.

PWC Citizens POlice Academy starts April 5; a few slots still available

The Prince William County Citizen Police Academy still has a few slots available for the upcoming session starting April 5. Graduates of the course will have a better understanding of the operation of the Department, and a greater awareness and appreciation of the challenges and decisions faced by Prince William County police officers each day.

Stafford woman dies Feb. 29. police investigate a two vehicle crash on US 1 in Dumfries. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2012 Toyota RAV4 was traveling eastbound from the Princeton Woods Shopping Center towards Wayside Dr when, for unknown reasons, the driver drove over the median and across the eastbound lanes striking two pedestrian signals.

Bank robbery in Lake Ridge 30 minutes before slain police officer’s funeral

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on March 1, 2016, Prince William County Police responded to BB&T Bank (12435 Dillingham Sq, Woodbridge, Va. 22192) for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

A funeral will be held at noon at Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge on Tuesday, March 1, for Prince William County Police Officer Ashley Guindon who died Feb. 27 in the line of duty. Viewing will be at 10 a.m.
